I recently took out a payday loan and have since had over 400 pound taken from my bank account. I have contacted the bank and told them these companies should not be taking money from my account only the companies i have named but the bank have not helped at all. This morning i discovered another 39 pound had been taken. The bank (Barclays) told me that i had to sort it out myself even though I have stated at least 4-5 times this week they do not have my permission to take anything as I don't know who they are and have not had any dealings with them where do I stand on this with regards to my rights and reclaiming mymoney

Im going to have a guess here and say you went via a broker for the payday loan. Who did you go to or what website did you enter your card details into ?

Write down the websites that took the money and write to each 1 requesting a refund/money back etc.

We cant advise anymore until you come back and post what happened eg website you went to.

This kind of thing comes up on here all the time. 99% of the time the poster in question has applied for a loan through a broker, usually without bothering to read any information about the website they're on or any terms and conditions, punching their debit card details into websites here and there without actually thinking about what they're doing.

Which company did you apply for a payday loan from? Did you only apply for one? Or more?

i never went through a broker i went straight through the loan company. Wageday advance was the company i went with. I have rang 4 of these companies and am currently going through their refund process. But Barclays have not helped despite me saying this money should not be leaving my account.

You must have given them your card/account details otherwise how did they get them. What does the websites for those concerned say about refunds, do they say to call or write to them ?

i looked up payday loans for a small loan for a couple of days and wage day advance was one of the names that came up. I phoned up and applied over the phone. I gave my card details and other things via fax. The companies in question are loansdirect merrywood loans myquid credit clean and smile finance

Do you mean you gave all your bank details to all those companies?

When you say you "looked up payday loans", do you mean you filled out some online forms which included all your details for example, on a comparison site?
